Stephen R. Barrese focuses his practice in the areas of trademarks, unfair competition, copyrights and internet-related matters including trademark research, clearance, prosecution, enforcement and maintenance of both foreign and domestic registrations, opposition and cancellation proceedings, and licensing and coexistence agreements. Stephen helps clients with branding strategies to grow trademark portfolios. He has prosecuted over 3000 trademark applications for a diversity of clients varying from one of the largest electronic companies in the world to small start-ups. Stephen works with his clients to not only protect their brands, but to look ahead to ensure they have strong trademark portfolios to leverage as assets for future exit strategies. In addition to protecting clients’ intellectual property portfolios, Stephen also has law firm management and operations experience.
