Ryan Schneer brings a rare combination of technical expertise and legal acumen to Dilworth IP. Drawing on his background as a former Patent Examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and years of experience at large and small law firms, as well as his own independent practice, Ryan offers strategic intellectual property solutions to entrepreneurs, innovators, and creatives.

His practice focuses on securing enforceable patents, managing complex IP portfolios, providing intellectual property counseling and opinions, in addition to advising clients on branding and trademark strategies.  Ryan draws on deep experience in chemical engineering through his work with global technology companies in the polymer, agricultural technology, metals and mining, green technology, and battery industries, amongst others. He was an early adopter of AI and has also integrated AI into his legal practice to enhance delivery of high-quality client service.

Ryan’s expertise also spans consumer products, pharmaceuticals, cosmetic formulations, oil and gas technology, alloys, and composite materials, where he takes a holistic approach to IP protection through utility and design patents as well as trademarks.  Throughout his career, he has become known for his ability to work through complex technical challenges and deliver innovative legal solutions that serve his clients’ long-term goals.

Outside of his legal practice, Ryan is passionate about music, poetry, fitness, and sports. A lifelong Mets, Jets, and Knicks fan, he enjoys spending time with family, exercising, and pursuing creative interests beyond the office.
