About Alan J. Morrison

Alan’s career includes founding and leading the Law Offices of Alan J. Morrison, serving as partner at several prominent New York law firms, and working in-house at Johnson & Johnson. 

Alan has represented clients worldwide in securing and enforcing patents for groundbreaking innovations such as recombinant antibody drugs, DNA microarrays, diagnostic kits, pharmaceutical formulations, stem cell-based methods, and small molecule drug synthesis.

In addition to his legal practice, Alan serves as adjunct faculty at Columbia University, where he designed and teaches graduate-level courses in biotechnology law and ethics. 

Alan is also the author of Biotechnology Law: A Primer for Scientists (Columbia University Press, 2020) and a frequent lecturer across the United States, Europe, Asia, and Africa on topics including gene patenting and biosimilars law.
