The preeminent intellectual property conference, IPWatchdog LIVE, will return for a third year this September 17-19 in Herndon, VA. Julie Tolek, trademark attorney at Dilworth IP, will return to IPWatchdog LIVE as a panel moderator, this year exploring the unique challenges surrounding brand protection in the rapidly developing world of AI technology.

On Monday, September 18, Julie will lead an expert panel in a discussion titled “The Infringing Underbelly of AI: Is Resistance Futile?” They will explore the emerging threats to IP rights in the fiercely evolving ecosystem of deep fakes and AI. She’ll be joined by Jessica Richard (VP of Federal Public Policy for the Recording Industry of America) and Randy Canis (Cigna’s Chief Patent Counsel).

Julie is experienced in all areas of trademark prosecution and counseling, portfolio strategy, and maintenance. In addition, Julie’s practice also includes name and brand strategy, enforcement and defense litigation before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and in the Federal courts, U.S. Customs and Border Protection registration of trademarks for anti-counterfeiting protection, website and domain name disputes, competitive landscape analysis, due diligence in preparation for mergers, acquisitions, or investments, advising on investor pitching, trademark licensing and co-existence agreements, and foreign portfolio management. Julie has been recognized by the American Bar Association as one of the “Women You Need to Know in Law and Technology” in 2015, “Women of Legal Tech” in 2016, and “Women of Legal Tech Revisited” in 2021.
